About the Wolf Spider

Scientific name: Lycosaidae

Wolf Spiders (Lycosaidae) are a species of spider native to the Ozarks. They are solitary creatures and are often found living on their own. They don’t reside in webs like other spiders, instead they typically live in holes or burrows or any dark space including some manmade environments. Due to their independent lifestyle they typically hunt alone. Wolf Spiders rely on stealth and a swift sneak attack to catch their prey. They utilize venom to further enhance the chance of a successful catch.
